2024.04.20 Friendship meetings, Polish-Gujarati (Indian)

Polish Veterans Association in BC hosted Polish-Gujarati (Indian) friendship meeting.

There was once “A Good Maharaja” who took under his wing 1000 Polish orphaned children from Siberia during WW II and helped another 20,000 Polish families from the Siberian Gulags to settle in the Gujarat province of India.

An amazing man who helped many Polish people during World War II. Karolina Rybka was saved by this “A Good Maharaja” and she is living now in Kelowna BC.

Piotr Kasperkiewicz a representative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Vancouver was present at this meeting and delivered a letter from the Consul General Aleksandra Kucy.

The President of Polish Veterans Association in BC, also received letter from Consulate General of India in Vancouver

Dear Mr. Wojciech Lenartowicz,

Thank you for your kind invitation to the “Friendship event” being organized by your Association on April 20, 2024. I would have loved to attend the event but regret not being able to do so as I would be out of Vancouver during the weekend. I am sure it will be a wonderful event. I wish you and the Polish Veterans Association in  BC all the success towards spreading the positivity and message of love and friendship across the communities.

Cards of gratitude to “A Good Maharaja”.

1st place Jacob Kalmuczak, 2nd place Tymon Bamborowicz, 3nd place Maks Rdzak, all three students from the Polish School in Vancouver.
30 children took part in the competition, from the Polish schools with the help of Sister Anna.
The winners were selected by Mrs. Karolina Rybka, a 93-year-old child of the Maharaja rescued from Siberia.
